STRATEGIES

EVERY STRATEGY HAS A PURPOSE.

There is no single product that solves every financial problem. The right strategy starts with the risk, responsibility, or opportunity in front of you — then earns its place in the plan.

“Insurance won't make you rich — but it'll keep you from being broke.”
— Chuck Tolbert

Health

Health coverage is part of your financial defense. A serious medical event can change your cash flow, savings, and family plan quickly.

We help you understand what your health plan does, where it leaves exposure, and how coverage fits the rest of your strategy. The goal is clearer choices before a health event forces the conversation.

Disability Income

Your ability to earn is often your largest financial asset. If an illness or injury interrupts that income, every other goal feels the impact.

Disability income planning protects the engine behind your mortgage, savings, business, and family responsibilities. We look at how much income needs protecting and for how long.

Term

Term insurance can create an affordable layer of protection during the years your family, debt, and income need it most.

We help you match the amount and length of coverage to the responsibilities it is meant to protect. The purpose is straightforward: create time and breathing room if you are no longer there.

Term with Living Benefits

Some term policies may provide access to part of the death benefit while you are living after a qualifying chronic, critical, or terminal illness.

We explain the qualifying conditions, limitations, and tradeoffs so you can decide whether living-benefit protection belongs in your plan. Policy terms, underwriting, and carrier approval apply.

Whole Life / IUL

Permanent protection that lasts your whole life, with cash value that builds over time…

Whole life provides guarantees. Indexed universal life can credit interest based on an external index, with a 0% floor in the index account, so a market decline does not directly reduce that account value. Policy charges still apply. These policies are designed for protection first, and results depend on policy design, funding, management, and individual circumstances.

Final Expense

Final expense coverage is designed to keep funeral costs and immediate end-of-life expenses from becoming a family burden.

A simple policy can help your family handle the first bills without having to make rushed decisions. We review the benefit, premium, eligibility, and policy terms clearly.

Premium Financing

Premium financing uses outside capital to help fund a large life insurance premium when the strategy, the client, and the numbers make sense.

This is not a shortcut and it is not for everyone. We look at the loan, the interest rate, the collateral, the repayment plan, the policy performance, and what happens if the assumptions change. You need to understand the possibility of additional capital calls, a change in terms, or a policy that does not perform as illustrated.

Mortgage Paydown

A mortgage is one of the largest obligations most families carry, and the goal of paying off a 30-year mortgage in about seven years can be part of a bigger defensive plan.

Actual timing depends on your numbers, your cash flow, your interest rate, and how consistently the strategy is funded. We compare mortgage paydown with liquidity, protection, and competing goals so you can see what the strategy would require before you decide.

Annuity

Annuities can be used to create a dependable income stream or add a different kind of protection to a retirement plan.

We explain income guarantees, liquidity, fees, surrender periods, interest crediting, and carrier strength before discussing whether an annuity fits. Guarantees are subject to the claims-paying ability of the issuing company.

401(k) Rollover

You changed jobs, but the old 401(k) is still part of your financial picture. It should have a purpose, not just sit there because no one has revisited it.

We compare leaving it where it is, moving it to a new employer plan, or rolling it into an IRA. We look at fees, investment choices, creditor protection, tax treatment, beneficiary designations, and whether the move supports the retirement income you are trying to create.

IRA

An IRA can be a useful part of a retirement income plan when its job is clear and the account works with everything else you own.

We look at how an IRA fits alongside life insurance, annuities, employer plans, and other income sources. Depending on your goals, carriers such as North American and National Life Group may be part of the conversation. Tax treatment depends on the individual and their tax strategy; consult your tax advisor.

College Planning

College planning is a family decision, and the right place to start is comparing the goal with the tools available to fund it.

We compare a 529 plan with other ways to save, looking at contribution flexibility, tax treatment, control, and what happens if the money is not used for qualified education expenses. The plan should help a child without putting the parent’s retirement or protection at risk.

Wills & Trusts

A financial plan is incomplete if your wishes are unclear when your family needs them most.

We help you identify the estate conversations that belong with an attorney, including guardianship, beneficiaries, ownership, and transfer goals. TFG Tolbert Financial Group does not provide legal advice.

Mortgage Protection

Mortgage protection is about keeping housing stable if death, disability, or a qualifying health event changes the household income.

We review the obligation, the people depending on it, and the coverage already in place. The goal is to understand what would happen to the home and how a protection strategy could help.

Buy-Sell Agreements

A business partnership needs a plan for an owner’s death, disability, or departure before a difficult event makes the decisions for you.

A properly coordinated buy-sell arrangement can define who may buy, who must sell, how the business is valued, and how the purchase is funded. Legal and tax professionals should be part of the final structure.

Key Person & Retention

A business can be exposed when one person carries critical knowledge, relationships, or revenue responsibility.

Key-person protection and retention planning can help a company prepare for the loss of a vital contributor and make it easier to keep the people who drive the business forward.
